It begins with cool lemon, geranium and pink pepper, a bright aromatic breath that lasts only briefly. Then the fragrance turns sharply toward animalic earth. Civet-like facets can be urinous for a few minutes, while a geosmin accord gives the uncanny smell of rain hitting soil, peat and wet stone.
Sandalwood remains the composition's calm center. Vetiver adds a grassy veil, and guaiac wood, labdanum and incense gradually warm the dark terrain. The result is less a sequence of conventional notes than an extended duet between damp earth and luminous wood.
