Essence

Jimmy Choo Man is Anne Flipo’s 2014 fruity-aromatic masculine. Pineapple leaf, melon, lavender, pink pepper, suede, patchouli, and modern woods create a soft contemporary fougere.

Scent Profile

Pineapple leaf and honeydew melon open with green, tart sweetness, while pink pepper, mandarin, and lavender provide lift. Geranium carries the aromatic heart. Synthetic suede, patchouli, ambroxan, and woods create a creamy, powdery drydown. It changes gradually rather than dramatically: fruit leads the early wear, then a sweet fruity-aromatic skin scent remains as the suede comes through. The suede is its most distinctive masculine detail.

Performance

Performance is light to moderate and commonly lasts around four hours before becoming close to skin. Clothing application can help, but this is not a statement projector.

Wearing Context

Spring and summer daytime, casual dates, school, and smart-casual settings suit it best. It feels young and easygoing rather than formal, wintery, or especially edgy.

Comparisons & DNA

Coach for Men is the closest repeated comparison. Bleu de Chanel and Dior Sauvage provide broad woody-aromatic context, while Polo Blue explains the melon-pineapple freshness. Dylan Blue is a more forceful relative in the same designer-fougere space.

Reception

The scent is broadly liked as pleasant, approachable, and good value when discounted. Critics find it derivative and weak, while supporters point to the suede and the easy fruity-aromatic appeal.

Versions & Reformulation

Man Intense, Ice, Blue, and Aqua broadened the line. The original remains in production, and no major documented reformulation is established.

Acquisition Notes

This is a mainstream designer fixture that is heavily discounted in 100 ml. It is easy to sample, and discount pricing is more persuasive than full retail given the performance.

Notable Facts & Lore

  • It was Jimmy Choo’s first masculine fragrance.
  • Kit Harington fronted its launch campaign.
  • The campaign promised more rock attitude than the soft scent delivers.
