Essence

The first impression is vivid rose with fizzy orange or clementine brightness. Cardamom adds a slightly soapy spice, and the rose stays fresh rather than syrupy. It can suggest orange liqueur, cola, or root beer depending on the wearer, an idiosyncrasy that explains both its appeal and its detractors. As the citrus recedes, frankincense becomes the center of the composition. It is green, resinous, and fiery rather than church-dark.
