Acqua dell'Elba — Stella
Essence
Stella is Acqua dell’Elba’s 2025 powdery floral-musk, made by Luca Maffei for the Mediterranea anniversary collection. It turns the collection’s sea-travel story toward a quiet, warm return home under a summer star.
Scent Profile
Bergamot and orange give Stella a fresh, gently sweet first impression. The citrus is a light-opening gesture rather than the whole point, preparing the fragrance for a more tactile floral center. Cotton flower, jasmine and orchid form that center. Cotton flower gives the perfume its clean, laundered softness, while jasmine and orchid keep it floral without becoming heady. The effect is powdery and modern, with a small lift of citrus still visible around the edges. Musk, white woods and sandalwood make the drydown creamy, velvety and close to skin. This is the least marine and most enveloping member of its trio: a comfort-oriented floral musk rather than a salt-air composition.
Performance
Documented wear reports remain limited for this young release. Its clean musk base points to moderate persistence with an intimate trail, not a room-filling cloud. Apply generously if a more noticeable presence is wanted.
Wearing Context
The story and scent both suit warm-weather evenings, but Stella also works through mild seasons and casual daytime plans. It is unisex, soft and cozy rather than imposing, making it suitable for travel, relaxed dinners and tidy daily wear. It is not designed as a cold-weather statement fragrance.
Comparisons & DNA
Riviera is the more citrus-fig-lavender entry in the Mediterranea collection, and Essenzamare is its saline, sea-lily-led counterpart. Stella trades both of those breezier directions for cotton-flower softness and a creamier sandalwood-musk base. The house’s Classica signature is more aquatic in spirit. Stella is better understood through the clean-skin floral family: powdery, white-wooded and reassuring rather than overtly maritime.
Reception
Early impressions recognize a light, modern powderiness that will appeal to people who want a calm clean floral. The limitation is the same quality: its gentle, familiar character may be too quiet for anyone seeking originality or projection. There is not yet enough reception to establish a settled value verdict. Sampling through a travel format is the most sensible route for a scent whose charm depends on subtlety.
Versions & Reformulation
Stella is a 2025 EDP with 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, plus a 15 ml format in the Mediterranea travel set. No reformulation or alternate concentration is documented.
Acquisition Notes
Stella sits in the house’s mid-tier niche range. The brand’s boutiques, website and selected perfumeries are the main sources, with availability more limited outside Europe. The small travel format offers a lower-commitment way to try it.
