Essence

Lune Feline Extrait is the 2023 high-concentration interpretation of Atelier des Ors dry, smoky vanilla. It deepens the original formula spice, balsam, woods and animalic warmth without turning it into a sugary gourmand.

Scent Profile

The opening repeats the Lune Feline signature: cardamom, cinnamon and pink pepper. In the extrait, the heart feels darker and more textured, with styrax, ambergris and cedar giving smoky, rubbery, leathery depth. Tahitian vanilla, Peru balsam and musk anchor the base, but the vanilla stays dry and balsamic rather than dessert-like.

Performance

The extrait was created partly to answer performance complaints around the EDP. It generally feels denser, longer and more persistent, with a strong opening and a tenacious base. Projection still settles inward over time.

Wearing Context

Cold weather only for most wearers. It suits evening, date-night, winter travel and candlelit indoor settings. In heat, the spice and balsam can become too heavy.

Comparisons & DNA

The key comparison is the original Lune Feline EDP: the extrait is darker, smokier and longer-lived while keeping the same DNA. It touches the same broad spicy-amber-vanilla field as Ambre Narguile, Oajan and Tobacco Vanille, but is drier and more cardamom-forward.

Reception

Reception is positive among fans of the original who wanted more depth and persistence. The same caveats remain: the opening can be forceful, the smoky facet is divisive, and the price makes sampling sensible.

Versions & Reformulation

Released in 2023 as a 30 percent extrait. It is a distinct high-concentration interpretation, not evidence that the EDP was reformulated. The later Gold Craftsmanship edition uses the extrait presentation as a luxury object.

Acquisition Notes

Higher concentration and luxury positioning make this a more expensive way into the Lune Feline profile. Best for people who already like the EDP but want more density.

Notable Facts & Lore

  • The extrait reinforces Atelier des Ors slow, opulent house language: spice, resin, gold-flecked liquid and a sensual lunar theme carried from the original.
