Essence

Stella Nude is the intimate, clean-skin Stella: rose and grapefruit over peony, pink pepper, amber and vanilla. Released with the brand’s lingerie world in mind, it makes the house rose softer, fresher and closer to skin.

Scent Profile

The opening is Moroccan rose brightened by grapefruit. It is crisp but gentle, more morning skin than sparkling citrus cocktail. Peony and pink pepper shape the heart. Peony keeps the rose dewy and pink, while pepper gives a faint dry edge that prevents the scent from becoming plain soap. The base is amber and vanilla, but both are light. The drydown reads as expensive rose soap, clean laundry and warm skin rather than a heavy amber. It is fairly linear, and that softness is intentional.

Performance

Longevity is the main weakness. Expect a few hours of close wear, gentle wafts and a need to reapply if you want the scent to stay present through the day. It performs like an intimate EDT, not a dressed-up EDP.

Wearing Context

Office, daytime, professional settings, comfort wear and close-contact contexts are ideal. It reads feminine, romantic and freshly showered, with enough polish to feel adult but very little risk of overwhelming a room.

Comparisons & DNA

Compared with Stella EDP, Nude is lighter, cleaner and less ambered. It shares space with clean modern roses such as Chloe-style musky florals and soft powdery skin scents, but it keeps a recognizable Stella rose underneath.

Reception

Clean-rose lovers often prize it as one of the easiest Stella flankers. Rose skeptics can find it approachable because it is soapy rather than jammy. Criticism focuses on simplicity, short wear and occasional skin-chemistry turns in the base.

Versions & Reformulation

No major reformulation story is documented. It was sold in EDT sizes and with a linen mist tied to the lingerie concept. The fragrance is now discontinued with the broader Stella McCartney fragrance line.

Acquisition Notes

Resale and old stock are the normal path. Condition matters because light EDTs can flatten with age. Late-run Stella packaging changes can confuse buyers, so verify bottle, concentration and seller reliability.

Notable Facts & Lore

  • A linen mist extended the perfume’s clean-skin idea into fabric.
  • Nude is often remembered as the soft daytime counterpoint to the darker original Stella.
