Created by Sophie Labbe, with Hailey Bieber as the face, it is essentially a 2020 modernization of the late-90s/early-2000s fresh citrus floral Mediterranean genre (Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is the obvious target). It’s a quintessential summer scent - bright, clean, mass-friendly - and it reads more Y2K early-2000s than its 2020 release date would suggest, which wearers consistently note as part of its charm.
Scent Profile
The opening is one of the most legibly Italian citrus blasts in modern designer perfumery: primofiore lemon essence and Italian mandarin hit hard and tart, with pink pepper adding a dry, slightly peppery edge that prevents the citrus from going syrupy. For the first ten to fifteen minutes, this is essentially lemon-mandarin-pepper sparkling water - bright, dry, and elegant. Several wearers describe no alcohol blast, just freshly squeezed citrus with a strong spicy note. The heart phase (twenty minutes to two hours) is where the composition becomes distinctive. Guava - listed in the official notes but underrepresented on wearer consensus note pyramid - is the tropical-fruit pivot that makes Turquoise feel different from the standard Mediterranean citrus floral. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is the obvious reference - both share the lemon-citrus-clean-woody Mediterranean DNA - but Turquoise is more tropical (guava vs. Light Blue’s apple/cedar) and more contemporary in its base (Clearwood vs. cedar). Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is another close cousin - similar fresh-citrus-clean-musk structure but Chance is greener and Turquoise warmer/fruitier.

Common praise: one of the most exquisite summer fragrances, evokes sunshine, citrus, swimming, elegant, with a clear aquatic lean and wearable freshness, smells far superior to the navy and dark purple Dylan scents. Common criticism: limited lasting power on some skin types; fades in a couple hours, at least on my skin. Some wearers complain newer batches (post-August 2022) smell slightly different, but this isn’t a confirmed reformulation.
