Essence
Scent is CoSTUME NATIONAL’s 2002 starting point: a warm, translucent tea-floral by Laurent Bruyere built around hibiscus, jasmine, green tea and polished amber. It is marketed feminine but wears quietly unisex, with the restraint of a linen shirt and the warmth of an amber base.
Scent Profile
The opening is cool and aromatic, pairing green tea with bergamot and a touch of cardamom. It feels clean without turning aquatic, and the tea stays present long after the first citrus lift fades. The heart brings jasmine sambac, rose and hibiscus, but the effect is not a dense bouquet. The florals are pale, slightly tart and semi-transparent, set against the tea accord. As the base arrives, sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, leather and ambergris make the scent warmer and more sensual without becoming heavy. The final impression is a soft amber-tea floral: luminous, slightly milky, cleanly woody and understated. Beside Scent Intense it feels whiter, more delicate and less sticky.
