Oud Delice is the sweeter 2015 gourmand-leaning member of Piguet’s oud trilogy. Aurelien Guichard wraps the house oud accord in honey, fig, amber, patchouli, and Haitian vetiver, turning the difficult 2012 Oud into a warmer, more edible woody oriental.
Scent Profile
The opening can briefly read woody and oud-like before honey blooms. That honey is rich and almost melon-like, sweetened by fig and amber but kept from becoming pure dessert by the underlying wood. After the first half hour, patchouli and vetiver firm up the base. The oud accord is tamed, resinous, and non-barnyard; the long drydown is honeyed amber over earthy patchouli and cool vetiver. Some wearers notice a synthetic ambery or cough-drop facet, which is the main drawback.
