Essence
Patchouli N’ Roses is a clean, sharp rose-patchouli by Fabrice Pellegrin, later renamed Rose Tentation. It is prettier than the house’s classic patchouli but darker than its pink packaging suggests.
Scent Profile
The structure is linear and direct: tangy Damascus rose, rose oxide brightness, refined white patchouli, and musk. The rose can feel juicy, tea-like, and musky to fans, but sour, metallic, or acidic to detractors. The patchouli is clean and mild, not chocolatey or damp, and it gradually balances the rose as the fragrance dries down. Musk adds a powdery sweetness that makes it more modern and transparent than a vintage rose-patchouli chypre.
Performance
Performance is a strength. It projects readily, lasts well, and can become too much if oversprayed. Two sprays are plenty for most contexts.
Wearing Context

In 2024 it was renamed Rose Tentation with a different-looking note pyramid, suggesting more than a cosmetic rename. Older Patchouli N’ Roses bottles are now effectively old-stock references.

Discounted bottles are common, and newer Rose Tentation sizes include travel formats. Check packaging and name if you want the 2016 version rather than the relaunched presentation.
