Pivoine is a 2017 Celine Ellena peony fragrance with a tart rhubarb-currant opening and a dewy, transparent floral heart. It treats peony as a light spring flower rather than a rich bouquet.
Scent Profile
Redcurrant and rhubarb create the first contrast: juicy and fresh, with rhubarb keeping the fruit from becoming sugary. The heart is a built peony accord, since peony cannot be distilled as an oil. Jasmine and mimosa support its watery, naturalistic floral character without taking over. Iris, amber and musk soften the later wear. The overall movement is tart fruit, dewy peony, then a quiet creamy floral base. A faint soapy freshness and occasional bitter-pepper nuance may appear at the start, but the main idea stays clear and airy.
Performance
Pivoine is deliberately soft. Some wearers obtain a moderate six-to-eight-hour wear, while many find it fades within an hour or two or become unable to smell it quickly. Projection is intimate. Apply generously if a stronger presence is desired.

This is a spring and summer daytime floral for work, picnics, casual clothes and warm or humid weather. Its low projection makes it comfortable around fragrance-sensitive people, but it is not designed for an evening statement.

Burberry Her Blossom, Stella and L’Occitane Pivoine Flora are useful peony references. Fragonard is generally more transparent, dewy and natural in feel than those designer-oriented alternatives. Within the house it belongs to the Flower of the Year lineage, with the later Verveine as a related Celine Ellena project.
Reception
The naturalistic peony, tart freshness and value have won unusually warm appreciation. The single repeated drawback is performance: it is often beautiful but faint. It works best for someone who values a personal-radius spring flower over projection.
Versions & Reformulation
Originally a 2017 Flower of the Year release, Pivoine became a permanent EDT in several sizes. Grenade Pivoine is a separate pomegranate-peony fragrance and should not be confused with it. No formula change is established.
Acquisition Notes
Pivoine remains a value-priced option through house boutiques and the official shop. It is less easy to find in physical United States retail, though small gift-set formats and samples circulate. Its low price makes testing or generous application practical.
